Holašovice (deutsch Hollschowitz) ist historisches Dorf 15 Kilometer westlich von České Budějovice in Tschechien und zählt seit 1998 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Es ist die Perle des südböhmischen Bauernbarocks. Es hat nach wie vor die mittelalterliche Anordnung der einzelnen Giebelfronten der Wohnhäuser zum Dorfplatz hin. Die jetzigen Gebäude stammen aus dem 18. bis 20. Jahrhundert, hauptsächlich aus der 2. Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Sogar die alten Brunnen vor den Häusern wurden reaktiviert. Der Ort wurde 1263 erstmals erwähnt. 1292 überließ König Wenzel II. das Dorf dem Zisterzienserkloster Hohenfurth, in dessen Besitz es bis 1848 blieb. Zwischen 1520 und 1525 wurde Holašovice bei einer großen Pestepidemie fast ausgelöscht. Nur zwei der Einwohner überlebten. Das Kloster besiedelte den Ort wieder, die Siedler kamen aus Bayern und Österreich. Holasovice wurde zu einem überwiegend deutschsprachigen Dorf im tschechischen Sprachgebiet. Nach der Vertreibung der deutschen Bewohner im Jahre 1945 blieben viele Höfe unbewohnt und verfielen. Während der kommunistischen Herrschaft verödete Holašovice. Nach 1990 wurde die wertvolle Bausubstanz aufwändig restauriert, so dass die Gehöfte nunmehr wieder bewohnt sind. Im Jahre 2001 bestand das Dorf aus 60 Häusern, in denen 136 Menschen lebten (z.T. aus Wkipedia).

Holašovice (german Hollschowitz) is a historic village 15 kilometers west of České Budějovice in the Czech Republic and has since 1998 a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the pearl of the South Bohemian peasant Baroque. It still has the medieval arrangement of the gable fronts of the houses down to the village square. The present buildings date from the 18th to 20 Century, mainly from the second Half of the 19th Century. Even the old fountain in front of the houses have been reactivated. The village was first mentioned in 1263. King Wenceslas II in 1292 ceded the village to the Cistercian monastery Hohenfurth in whose possession it remained until 1848. Between 1520 and 1525 Holašovice was almost wiped out by the pestilance. Only two of the inhabitants survived. The monastery populated the place again, the settlers came from Bavaria and Austria. Holasovice was a predominantly German-speaking village in the Czech language area. After the expulsion of the German people in 1945, many farms remained uninhabited and fell into disrepair. During the communist rule deserted Holašovice. From 1990, the building has been labouriously restored so that the farms now occupied again. In 2001 the village consisted of 60 houses, inhabited by 136 people.

Das Bild entstand vor einigen Jahren mit meiner alten Sony Cybershot. Diesen Holzstapel habe ich bei einem Spaziergng rund um den Ostersee zwischen Iffeldorf und Seeshaupt gesehen. Da fragt man sich, wie lang das schon da liegt?

The picture was taken a few years ago with my old Sony Cybershot. This pile of wood I’ve seen on a walk around the Ostersee between Iffeldorf and Seeshaupt. Then one wonders how long that is already there?

Augustiner-Bräu claims to be the oldest brewery in Munich. The earliest records of brewing are from 1328. The monastery was founded in 1294, so the date could be even earlier.

The monastery was dissolved in 1803. The brewery came into the hands of the Wagner family, and a majority of the shares are still in the hands of a Wagner family foundation. The initials J.W. refer to Josef Wagner, who built a new brewery in 1885.

The location is the Augustiner Keller on Arnulfstrasse. I do not remember going there. However, it was near a hotel by the station, where I stayed several times in Munich.

Several internet commentators said that Augustiner was their favorite Munich bear. They typically rated Paulaner second.
